Text link in internet marketing often refers to a static hyperlink from one page to another. These text links serve two purposes. It allows visitors of the page where such text link is published to follow and become a visitor on the destination page. This process is called a referral.

But perhaps the biggest benefit of having text links or static links on other websites is that they are a primary determination factor for search engines in analyzing the importance and relevance of your website. Text links are similar to votes in concept. The larger the number of the websites linked to your website, the greater the perceived importance of your website becomes.

Placing text links is also becoming a great source of revenue for bloggers. While the traffic of the blog may not be enough to provide a sustainable revenue stream from traffic monetization, placing static links to similar blogs and websites in exchange for a flat monthly fee is often a viable alternative.
